The healthcare system in Ukraine is in crisis. Doctors and healthcare workers on the front lines are fighting to save patients’ lives, often without adequate equipment. Medications, bandages, surgical instruments, and essential tools for intensive care are in short supply. Quick access to sufficient medical supplies significantly increases the chances of saving lives and greatly reduces the risk of infections and other complications.

Where Your Help Goes

The proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to purchase medical supplies and essential equipment for both acute and long-term care in hospitals on the front lines in these regions:

Dnipropetrovsk Region — a key area of non-occupied Ukraine on the front line, where soldiers are urgently treated directly from the battlefield.
Poltava Region — the first calmer area for treating stabilized patients on their way to Kyiv.

Both regions are facing a critical shortage of medical supplies. All equipment will be purchased based on the specific and current needs of hospitals we are in regular contact with.

Suggested Donation Amounts:

€12 – covers a basic kit for treating minor injuries
€20 – provides a first aid kit for a patient in the emergency room with a bleeding injury
€40 – covers basic dressing materials for a burn patient’s week-long treatment
€200 – helps equip an operating room for urgent surgery on a child with more serious injuries
€400 – supplies an ambulance with disposable medical supplies for a month, treating hundreds of patients
€2,000 – provides a month’s supply of consumable materials for the ICU, sufficient for up to 30 critically ill patients

The collection is part of an international conference organized by the Global Healthcare Initiative under the patronage of Eva Pavlová, the First Lady of the Czech Republic.

What is the purpose of the collection, and where will the funds go?

The funds raised will be used to purchase medical supplies for hospitals in the Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions of Ukraine. The specific materials will be distributed according to the current needs of individual hospitals in basic medical care kits, including:
General surgical materials (sterile dressings, sutures, hygiene products, bandages, wound care products, etc.)
Resuscitation and intensive care (catheters, infusion sets, suction devices, etc.)
Orthopedics and traumatology (orthoses and braces, bone fixation materials, bandages)
A key aspect is the rapid delivery and immediate use of the purchased materials where they are most needed. Administrative costs necessary for the successful management of the fundraiser will be covered by 7% of the proceeds. The operational fee for Darujme.cz will be according to the pricing on their website.

How long will the collection run?

The collection is planned to run until June 30, 2025.

Is there a minimum or maximum donation amount?

There is no minimum or maximum donation amount. Every contribution counts and helps.

How will the materials be delivered and distributed in Ukraine?

The distribution of materials to Ukraine will be coordinated with other deliveries of medical supplies, primarily medical equipment already en route to Ukraine. We plan to collaborate with other Czech companies delivering to Ukraine to ensure efficient and coordinated delivery.

Where are the materials purchased, and who is responsible for procurement?

The equipment will be purchased from Czech companies specializing in the production and distribution of medical supplies. The procurement is managed by Diakonie ČCE.

Do you have a specific list of required items?

We are in close contact with hospitals in both regions, and the purpose of the collection is directly based on their needs. The specific materials will be purchased according to the current requirements of the hospitals at the time of distribution.

How can I track the progress of the collection?

You can follow the collection’s progress directly on the Darujme.cz website, where you will find the current amount raised and additional information about the collection.

How will the selection of medical supply providers be conducted?

The selection of providers will be carried out in collaboration with the Czech Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Medical Devices, which we will contact to secure the necessary equipment. Together, we will compile sets of consumable materials according to the current needs of the hospitals.

Can I receive a donation receipt for tax purposes?

The Darujme.cz platform provides a donation receipt, which will be sent to your email. For any adjustments, follow the instructions in the confirmation email.

Where will information about how the funds were used be published?

Information will be published on the Global Healthcare Initiative for Ukraine website (www.ghiczech.com).

Can I help in ways other than financially?

Do you accept physical donations, such as medications or medical equipment?

Since the specific needs of the hospitals may change and we aim to ensure the collection’s effectiveness, we need to centralize and streamline the ordering and delivery process. We are unable to manage the logistics and proper use of individual physical donations.
